To keep our community fair and ensure every developer gets real testers, you must enroll in and test 3 apps from other developers before you are eligible to publish your own app on ClosedTester.

🔄 Step-by-Step Testing Lifecycle

PHASE 1 Enrollment, Setup & Proof Verification

Join Track & Install App Join the developer's closed testing track via Google Group or direct Google Play invitation. Download and install the app on your physical Android testing device, then upload an initial screenshot proof right after installing the app to activate your 14-day testing track.

Proof Review & Auto-Approval Once your initial screenshot is uploaded, the developer is notified to review it. If the developer does not review it within 24 hours, our system automatically approves it so your testing track starts without delays!
PHASE 2 Daily Screenshots & Anytime Feedback

14-Day Cycle & Daily Screenshots Keep the app installed for 14 consecutive calendar days. Perform a quick daily check-in on ClosedTester by uploading a fresh daily screenshot of the app running on your phone to maintain your streak.

Feedback & Escrow Reward Release Submit honest ratings, bug reports, and suggestions anytime after successful enrollment (and update your review whenever needed). Finalize your feedback by Day 14 to complete your testing cycle and release your 14+ credits reward!

Reciprocity Formula & Scaling Rule

ClosedTester enforces a strict scaling rule to guarantee fairness: Required Contributions = (Active Campaigns + 1) × 3.

â€ĸ 1st App Campaign: Requires 3 test contributions (and is 100% FREE of credit charges).
â€ĸ 2nd Active App Campaign: Requires 6 test contributions + escrow credits.
â€ĸ 3rd Active App Campaign: Requires 9 test contributions + escrow credits.

Automated Campaign Protection (Pause & Resume)

If your contribution balance falls below the required threshold (for example, if an enrolled test is dropped due to inactivity), the platform's automated engine will automatically pause your newest campaign to maintain balance. As soon as you enroll in and test more apps to restore your balance, your campaign is automatically resumed.

1-to-1 Reciprocal Matching & Priority Boosting

Testing more apps directly increases your app's recruitment capacity. For example, if you enroll in and test 12 apps from fellow developers, your app will recruit 12 active testers! Furthermore, developers with a higher net positive testing contribution receive Priority Group 1 Placement at the top of the queue, recruiting volunteer testers up to 10x faster.

Escrow Protection & 1-to-1 Credit Economy

For subsequent campaigns beyond your 1st free app, campaigns cost 14 credits per requested tester slot (e.g., 168 credits for 12 testers). Credits are locked safely in escrow and only paid to testers after they complete all 14 check-in days and submit feedback. If a tester drops out prematurely, 0 credits are paid and the escrow slot opens for a new volunteer tester.
